Our History – What makes us special

The Preschool was initially established by Leslie Moorhead O.B.E (1906 – 1983) a well-known local identity, teacher and historian at the back of the Methodist Church in Barkly Street, Mornington. In 1982 the Council perpetuated her name and her dedication to education, by re- naming the pre-school after it was relocated to the Elsie Dorrington Reserve. We are very honoured that a Pre-School carrying her name is still thriving and improving early years education in Mornington.
